We are a community organisation supporting those living with life-long health conditions and/or disabilities. Living with any illness is hard and at times very isolating; by offering a friendly, safe place to come and meet others in a similar situation, we can improve the well-being of those living with any health condition, as well as their families and carers.
Our aim is to reach the more isolated communites within Neath Port Talbot; communities where there is a lack of social opportunities or where the nearest support group may be too far away for those who need it most. Things we have organised in the past include coffee mornings, craft sessions, day trips and social sessions.
We can also offer additional support by helping with form filling, phone calls, emails etc as well as referring individuals to other organisations for extra support if needed.
We are currently based in Neath, with a weekly session at The Gathering Place every Wednesday between 12 - 3pm.

It Together NPT was an idea thought of towards the end of Covid lockdown in 2000. I began looking for friendship / peer support groups in the area to join when we were able to; I had previously volunteered at a local friendship group and although it was a fabulous group i felt it wasn't for me. I have multiple health issues including asthma, eczema, depression, sciatica, osteopenia and Chrohn's disease (which has resulted in having an ileostomy), and I was looking for somewhere I could chat with like minded people without being judged, especially if I was unable to join in any activity due to my health. I discovered that while there are plenty of support groups out there for with conditions such as mental health, ALN, epilepsy, diabetes, fibromyalgia, cancer, asthma, arthritis etc; I was unable to find any groups for supporting those with multiple conditions. So, I set up my own; somewhere people with more than one health condition / disability, whether diagnosed or undiagnosed, can come together for a cuppa and a chat with others in a similar situation.
